As you may have heard, as of February 1st 2018, BackTrack, Inc. (BackTrack) has been acquired by General Information Services (GIS).

The acquisition of BackTrack by GIS will enable BackTrack to enhance our product and service offerings even further beyond what is available to you today. GIS is one of the nation’s oldest and largest background screening providers, employs more than 1,200 people and serves 1 out of 6 of the Fortune 500 and thousands of other clients worldwide. GIS has the experience and the track record to be able to ensure the BackTrack business and BackTrack client programs continue to be successful.

As the BackTrack business merges with GIS, you will immediately notice that there are no major changes to your program. This seamless merger is possible, for more reasons than GIS and BackTrack having a well-structured plan and strategy in place. GIS and BackTrack have all of the following in common:

  • Customer Service – You can expect to receive the same level of customer service going forward. Even with GIS’ growth to become one of the largest background screening providers in the world, GIS has not forgotten the quality and service that enabled that success. All clients receive dedicated account management, so when you have questions or concerns you can call and speak to someone that is knowledgeable about your account, not a random employee in a call center.
  • NAPBS Accreditation – Both GIS and BackTrack are accredited through the NAPBS Background Screening Agency Accreditation Program which recognizes our commitment to upholding high standards in data protection, quality, and legal compliance. Less than 10% of all background screening companies have this accreditation.
  • U.S. Based and Operated – GIS shares BackTrack’s dedication to perform all U.S. background screening services in the U.S. to protect PII (personally identifiable information) and to support U.S. jobs. Just as they have been previously, all of your U.S. background screening services will continue to be processed in the U.S.
  • Flexibility – Similar to BackTrack, GIS also does not require clients to configure their needs around any rigid systems. All client programs are designed to be processed and handled to clients’ precise specifications.
